Training

Our workforce will always continue be our most important asset. We appreciate the efforts of our workers and continually reinvest in training them with new skills and qualifications, to enable them to rise through the ranks and better themselves, whilst increasing the productivity and quality of work that we produce as a team.

Similarly we ensure that their safety is paramount in any project that we undertake by insisting that they carry out regular health & safety, COSSH, first aid, plant, handling & lifting and tool training courses which not only help them to protect themselves from injury but ensure that they carry out procedures which minimise the risk to the health & safety of the general public and to the environment.

By training our existing team members, we believe that they achieve a much higher job satisfaction and will continue to repay our company with hard work and dedication, which is an all important factor in the running of our successful business.

The company's founder Mr Peter Price talks about Barco "I decided it was time for a change in the way building is taught. We offer real-time experiences to teach the importance of timing, technique, style and manner. I believe all trainees should be supervised so they never feel out of their depth. It is important to feel supported and not just stuck with mixing cement, because everyone's too busy to show you how."

Members of our workforce have already achieved NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 whilst working with Barco which enhances our commitment to the highest standards of workmanship and skill.

We are also registered with CITB Construction Skills, the government initiative for training workforces and helping build the industry's long term future.
