Environmental Policy

Barco appreciates that our operations can impact the environment in many ways. We endeavor to ensure that our workforce adopts a positive attitude to all environmental issues and we are dedicated to minimizing any harmful effects on the environment by considering the impact of any project we carry out.

Barco fully complies with all legislation on environmental issues.

We diligently follow legislation raised by the:
Environmental Protection Act 1990 & Control of Pollution Act 1989.

Barco is fully licensed through the Control of Pollution Act to carry controlled waste.

Our Policy:

• Barco will always offer suggestions that could potentially reduce the impact upon the environment from any project that we manage.

• As part of our risk assessments before commencing work we ensure that we carry out an assessment to minimize the impact of waste, noise, dust and any other issue that could potentially affect the environment.

• Barco will always notify residents in the vicinity of our projects and will openly discuss any issues or concerns they may have with the impact of our work upon themselves, their properties and the environment.

• Barco will always try to where possible to purchase recycled materials, and will endeavor to store and then reuse waste material that we have gained that would normally be scrapped for example bricks and wood, in other projects that will allow us to do so.

• Barco consciously makes an effort to purchase timber work from reputable suppliers that offer wood from sustainable sources.

• Barco will always collaborate with our contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers to effectively work together in promoting the use of renewable and sustainable materials and to minimize the impact upon the environment.

• Barco operate a policy of recycling in our offices, ensuring that if it can be recycled it will be, including items such as any scrap paper, leaflets, envelopes, catalogues, drinks cans and plastic cups.

• Barco will make certain that our workforce are trained in every aspect of the use of hazardous substances, including correct methods of storing and disposing of these substances.

• Barco will ensure all of our employees acknowledge, support and follow this policy when carrying out their work, and we will assist them in every way possible to meet our commitment to protecting the environment.
